Dr. Gretchen Wright

Dr. Gretchen Wright grew up in Houston, Texas, but headed to Clemson University in South Carolina for college. After working on the horse and dairy farms there, she decided to become a veterinarian and graduated third in her class from Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. After finishing a prestigious internship in small animal medicine and surgery at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Dr. Wright went on to practice medicine in College Station, TX and Albuquerque, NM. She joined Highland Park Animal Hospital in November 2013 and calls Lakewood home.

Dr. Wright has loved most aspects of general practice but especially enjoys being a part of pets' lives during all stages.  Right now, she enjoys the challenges of soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries. 

Dr. Wright is a member of the Phi Zeta Veterinary National Honor Society, American Veterinary Medical Association, Texas Veterinary Medical Association, and currently serves on the board of the Dallas County Veterinary Medical Association. At home, Dr. Wright lives with her husband, also a veterinarian, has two sons, a golden retriever named Rosie, and a cat named Wade.
