Dr. Rachel Kennedy grew up just outside of Austin, Texas in Lake Travis. She attended the University of Texas at Austin where she majored in Biology and received and Business Foundation Certificate, focused in health-centered entrepreneurship in 2017.
She worked for a year as a technician at a mixed animal practice in Dripping Springs, Texas before attending Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated Cum Laude in 2022.
She grew up riding horses and spent most of her childhood around her family pets. During undergraduate she spent time shadowing an equine veterinarian. This experience solidified her love of veterinarian medicine. Most importantly, she loves nurturing the human-animal bond by supporting owners in becoming an essential part of their animal's care. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, and the Dallas County Veterinary Medical Associations. She is also Fear Free Certified, and Recover Certified BLS and ALS Rescuer. Her areas of interest include preventative medicine, soft tissues surgery, internal medicine, ultrasonography and ophthalmology.
Outside the hospital, Dr. Kennedy enjoys spending time outdoors playing pickleball, golf or just walking her dog at White Rock lake with her husband, John. They have a black rescue lab named Luna, and an appropriately rescue cat named Tubby.
